Prasad Acharya, MD

Dr. Prasad Acharya is a board-certified nephrologist with The Center for Kidney Care, where he cares for patients living with kidney disease and high blood pressure throughout South Jersey. He completed his undergraduate studies at Johns Hopkins University before earning his medical degree at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.

Dr. Acharya went on to complete both his residency and his nephrology fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, building the foundation of training that informs his approach to comprehensive kidney care. His clinical work spans the full range of nephrology, with particular experience in glomerulonephritis and kidney stones, as well as the management of hypertension and chronic kidney disease. In the South Jersey area, he is affiliated with Deborah Heart and Lung Center, Virtua Mount Holly Hospital, and Virtua Willingboro Hospital.

At The Center for Kidney Care, Dr. Acharya is part of a practice that has served South Jersey families since 1987 with compassionate, patient-centered kidney and high-blood-pressure care. With offices in Hainesport, Burlington Township, and Hamilton Township, the practice makes expert nephrology care accessible to patients throughout Burlington and Mercer counties.

He is a fair-weather fan of the Steelers, enjoys reading sci-fi, and his guilty pleasure is watching bad horror movies.
